Automakers have apparently been working hard to make an impact on consumers with their new lines for 2006. Many new models offer impressive styling but few can compete with the sexy new Jaguar XK Convertible.

The new Jaguar XK is one car you must see to appreciate, and with the respected Jaguar name, you know these cars have substance as well as style. While there is plenty to say about this truly stunning automobile, descriptions are not enough. The visual experience is without parallel.

The XK sparkles in “Frost Blue,” a pristine, shimmering shade of silver with a hint of blue, and it simply glows in “Radiance,” a vivid red that makes candied apples seem bland. The sleek lines and sexy silhouette of this Convertible are only further highlighted by the choice of dramatic colors.

I couldn’t resist having a look at the Coupe as well, which was shown in “Ebony.” Breathtaking, elegant, very black tie. Beyond luxurious.

Jaguar has a new advertising campaign that describes its cars as gorgeous. One commercial shows gorgeous people and gorgeous cars and explains that “gorgeous” is a highly valued virtue. Gorgeous gets into the most exclusive places. Looking at the dazzling XK Convertible, there can certainly be no argument about that. The advertisements simply do not do this chic new line of vehicles justice.

Yet, along with its sensuous styling, the XK Convertible comes standard with high performance features, luxury items, and a vast array of safety and security features. Powered by a commanding V-8 engine, the XK averages about 20 miles per gallon, not record-breaking, but not bad either.

Some of the many features offered include “smart” features such as rain-sensing wipers, and memory seats and mirrors so you can instantly return each to your preferred positions (as if you’d let anyone else drive this beauty!).

The XK comes with standard Jaguar warranty for 4 years or 50,000 miles. The warranty also covers scheduled maintenance (when performed by a certified Jag dealer), and provides 24/7 roadside assistance. While it goes without saying that you won’t use this feature often when driving a Jaguar, it is nice to know it’s there in case of emergency.

The Coupe starts out at about $70,000, and the Convertible at around $75,000, a bargain for either one of these truly gorgeous cars. They come loaded, complete with sound system not to mention an array of safety and security features, like front and side impact airbags, built in security system, and technology to stop the engine in case of theft. J.D. Power and Associates rates Jaguar’s X Series among the best for overall quality.

You owe it to yourself to have a look at the 2006 Jaguar XK Convertible or even the Coupe. I would take either one, no question. The only hard part would be choosing the best color.
