The XK is one of the most underappreciated high-end sports coupes on the market, and I’m not really sure why. Jaguar build and ride quality has always been of the highest caliber (save for the Ford merger, but that’s another story) but the XK just doesn’t get the play of cars like the Mercedes SL and the M3. Through some linking on other sides, I stumbled upon what appears to be an authentic picture of the 2006 Jag XK model, and I have to say that it’s the nicest looking coupe I’ve seen in a very long time.

According to some fancy translation from this Autobild.de page this new XK will have multiple engines: a 4.2L V-8 pushing 300-hp, and a “compressor version” (which I’m assuming to mean forced induction) which will be at 400-hp. Too bad the XK doesn’t come with a stick shift though, or else it might actually be a decent car ![]()

That “Ford” issue makes me reluctant to trying any Jaguar, Volvo, or Land Rover product.

what Jaguar did you drive before the Ford merger? They were notorious for horrible quality issues. Ask anyone that owned one in warm weather and needed the A/C to work.

Im always curious about what other ppl think about Acuras… Integra beat every ford - that’s for sure. Hmmm… Jaguar like yours… will have to think about it, right now it must remain this…

Jaguar’s design director, Ian Callum, who styled the Aston Martin Vanquish and started work on the DB9, (Henrik Fisker finished the DB9 and also styled the BMW Z8 but left in 2000) will style the 2006 Jaguar XK. It will use the new XJ’s aluminum chassis which is all-new. I hope they put a manual transmission in the 06 XK. The 06 XK is known as the “X150.”
The Jaguar V-8 is not a Ford V-8. Read this:

Aww puliz, that’s a Jag? First glance and I knew that’s an Austin Martin and I would have been impressed but im disapointed jaguar is now copying/ripping Austin’s design
Not gud

well that would explain why I thought “Vanquish” as soon as I saw the picture… Rick, any idea what the significance (if any) of the “150″ is if its called the XK150?
regardless, I wouldn’t mind pulling up to the club in this ride. Personally I dont care if Honda owned Jaguar as long as I was driving this car and my name was actually on the registration.

Beautiful, indeed. Similar to an Aston, in fact.
A nice car to buy if, and I say again, if, Ford forget about to includ some components of Mondeo or other trivial cars with no soul at all.

I also think it remembers to much to an Aston. It’s silly that a 100′000$ car have the controls of a 12000$ car. I think the jag logo is too expensive for what you get.
