South African publication Wheels24 posted its top picks for Most “Gay Car”, “Straight Car”, and “Sexiest rear-end”.

Uh, huh. Anyway, it was interesting to see the differences in what Americans think are gay or straight vehicles and what the world thinks. The BMW 3 Series coupe, for example, made number 2 in the gay category which Americans beg to differ. Same with the Volkswagen Jetta, which was number four under the straight category. (What were those Africans smoking?)

Biggest surprise to us was the lack of the Mazda MX-5 (aka “Miata”) in the gay category. Did it disqualify because it’s too obvious? Or has its time in the spotlight passed it by?

By the way, what’s with the rear end category? The best position to look at a car is in the driver’s seat.
