Led by a February record for sales of light trucks and the TSX sports sedan, Acura sold a total of 13,658 vehicles for the month, off 3.4 percent from last year, the luxury division announced today.
TORRANCE, Calif 11/21/2006 — The all-new 2007 Acura RDX was one of only three luxury SUVs (out of 13 total vehicles) to earn a 2007 Insurance Institute for Highway Safety TOP SAFETY PICK Award. The annual award, given to SUVs for the first time this year, recognizes vehicles that perform best in protecting passengers in front, rear and side crashes based on their ratings in the Institute’s tests.
The 2007 Acura RDX, which delivers a new level of performance, handling and luxury to the sport utility market, makes its debut today at Acura retailers nationwide.
I’ll admit I was surprised when I read that the flagship for Honda’s luxury line was in trouble. Honda and Acura vehicles are so common here in Orange County, SoCal, that you could walk into the parking lot of any mall and just see the non-stylized “H” and calipers in virtually every parking stall. (The rest would be filled with Bimmers.)
