NEW YORK - A panel of renowned motoring journalists from 22 countries around the world has reached its verdict: the Audi RS 4 is the 2007 World Performance Car of the Year. The sports saloon from Audi beat off competition from 17 other candidates to take the title. The award was announced at the New York International Auto Show.

I’ll admit I have an admiration for car companies that aren’t afraid to do things their own way. For a long time, Audi was one of them as one of the pioneers of the 5-cylinder engine. When it was first introduced, a lot of people thought Ingolstadt was off its collective rocker to build and sell such an unconventional engine. For many years, the 5 was the staple engine of Audi’s lineup.
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Audi of America, Inc. today announced pricing for their new 2007 A4 and S4 Cabriolet models. The turbocharged four-cylinder A4 2.0 T Cabriolet starts at $39,100 for FrontTrak models and $41,200 for quattro models. The V6 equipped A4 3.2 Cabriolet starts at $46,950, and the S4 Cabriolet is priced at $55,700 for manual transmission cars and $56,900 for Tiptronic equipped cars. Destination is $720 and is not included in the base price. The 2007 Cabriolets will arrive at showrooms in early September.
